SOLVED
ASSAULT & KIDNAPPING

Cortlandt Young

Devan Hopson
Lakewood Police need your help to locate suspects Cortlandt Young and Devan Hopson, who are wanted in connection with a kidnapping and assault. Felony warrants have been issued for Young's arrest for Kidnapping in the 1st degree and two counts of Assault in the 2nd degree, and for Hopsons arrest for three counts of Assault in the 2nd degree.

On the night of March 6th, 2009, suspect Devan Hopson went to suspect Cortlandt Young's ex-girlfriend's house wanting to confront her new boyfriend about a fight. Hopson was armed, and pointed a gun at the ex-girlfriend's family before fleeing in a car driven by Young. Later that night, Young found his ex-girlfriend, assaulted her and threatened to shoot up her house. Approximately one hour later, Young returned to her house, pointed a handgun at the victim and pulled her into a car driven by suspect Devan Hopson. Inside the car, Young hit the victim with his fists and the gun, and choked the victim. The victim was then taken to Young's apartment, where she was held at gunpoint for 13 hours before fleeing when Young fell asleep.

Cortlandt M. Young is a black male, 26 years old, 6'1", 175 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Devan I. Hopson is a black male, 21 years old, 6', 170 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Both suspects are likely armed and are considered extremely dangerous.
