Crime of the Week for 19 April 2009
ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY
Tacoma Police detectives need your help to identify the pictured suspect, who is responsible for attempting to rob a pharmacy at knife-point. On Monday April 20th, 2009 at 12:45 a.m., the pictured suspect attempted to rob the Walgreen's pharmacy located at 56th and Pacific Ave. in the City of Tacoma.
The suspect entered the store, displayed a knife, demanded Oxycontin and threatened to stab the pharmacist if his demands were not met. The pharmacist and several employees shouted at the suspect, and he ran from the pharmacy.
The suspect is described as a white male or possibly Hispanic male, 5'8", 165 lbs., long dark hair in a ponytail, with a mustache and a goatee. During the robbery he was wearing blue jeans, a striped yellow polo shirt, and a dark baseball hat. Police are investigating whether this suspect may also be responsible for a stabbing that occurred in the area shortly before the robbery attempt.
