University Place Police need your help to identify the suspects responsible for a theft and credit card fraud. At 4:05 p.m. on Monday August 24th, 2009, while shopping a woman noticed her wallet had been stolen from her purse at the Safeway store on Bridgeport Way in the City of University Place. By 4:15 p.m., the pictured suspects had used a credit card stolen from the victim's wallet to purchase a $1400 television set, $300 in cell phone accessories, and $850 in prepaid cell phones at a nearby Fred Meyer store.

Video surveillance from the Safeway store shows the pictured female distracted the victim, while the pictured male removed the victim's wallet from her purse. The first suspect is a black female in her 30's or 40's, medium height and weight, chin length black hair, wearing black pants and a bright blue short-sleeve dress shirt. The second suspect is a black male in his 30's or 40's, approximately 6' tall and 200 lbs., with short black hair and a receding hair line.
